INTERPRETATION OF GRENADA
An island nation in the southeastern Caribbean consisting of the large island Grenada and six other ones at the southern end of the Grenadines island chain. Its capital is St. George.
It is known as “the island of spice” as it is one the major exporters of nutmeg (20% of the worlds), mace, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, cocoa. Tourism is its main economic force. The national bird is the critically endangered Grenada Dove that only breeds here.
Most citizens are descendents of African slaves brought in by England & France. They gained independence from the UK in 1974.
