INTERPRETATION OF TISHREI

Tishrei begins the autumn season and is the first month of the year in the sacred calander, but the seventh month on the monthly civil calendar. Tishrei, more than any other month is a time of Gods appointed feasts, a time to gather and experience His Glory. It is the month for the Feast of Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles. Tishrei is a time to regather those things that were scattered and lost.

Tishrei is associated with the tribe of Ephraim. Ephraim means be fruitful and multiply. The tribe of Ephraim went into idolatry because they didn’t rid their land of the Canaanites. When the kingdom divided, they were leaders of the ten tribes that rebelled against Judah. Isaiah, Jeremiah & Ezekiel all prophesy that Ephraim will restore and reunite Israel after being scattered throughout the nations. Prophetic voices today call to Ephraim to come ‘home’ when calling for the tribes of Israel to return.

Its a time of reflected light of change, of revelation for the new year, of personal awakening to press into His Glory in new ways.

Tishrei is associated with the Hebrew letter of “lamed” which signifies a desire to return to your absolute source and looks like a seven; Gods perfect number of completion and precursor for the new to begin.

Tishrei is associated with the constellation of Libra in that it is a month to come before the Lord for His balanced righteous judgments and mercy.

Ephraim is described as a strong bull whose horns push and gather Israel. The shofar is a symbol of awakening to assemble, warning of battle, and call to gather to hear the voice of the Lord.

The visual symbol on the flag is of a broken, scattered Israel- portrayed by the Star of David; being called to regather the Glory light as the trumpet of the Lord is blown.
