INTERPRETATION OF ADAR

Adar is the 12th month of the Hebrew monthly calendar that correlates to our Roman calendar from mid Feb-March. The Jewish Calendar has frequent leap years (seven in every nineteen) with an additional month of Adar. During a leap year, Purim is celebrated in the second Adar. Adar is a month of Joy! Adar means strength and the Joy of the Lord is our strength, Adar is known as a time of good fortune for the Jewish people. Its a time to leap into your true destiny and annihilate the “Haman” in your life.

Adar is the month of Purim, a time of great celebration, parties and feasting in remembrance of how Queen Esther overturned the edict of Haman and set the Jewish people free. The sense of laughter, abounding joy, and light entering into darkness are characteristics of this month. Its a time to root out depression and despair, take off the cloak of heaviness and replace it with the garment of praise.

It is the month associated with the Tribe of Naphatali. Naphatali means “sweetness to me”. When God ordered the tribes to camp around the Tabernacle, He established “the camp of Dan” on the north and camped with him were Naphtali and Asher. Naphtali was prophesied to that “he is a deer let loose (leaping) with beautiful (sweet, glorious) words. He was to bring glorious words accompanied by glorious movement into worship in the sanctuary.

The constellation of Pisces, the fishes, is associated with Adar. Jewish custom is that fish symbolize abundance in all things. Jesus told Peter to catch a fish with a coin in its mouth to pay their bills. So now is a time to find supply in the hidden things of the world. Part of this discovery is your identity and a time to identify and activate your gifts of the Spirit.

The Hebrew Letter associated with Adar is KUF, kuf means monkey or mimic, so it is symbolizing removing the mask and letting the real shine forth and entering into joy.
